2007: MORELA, A NEW CITY FOR GERTRUDE IN MEXICO! After winning over Portugal, France, China, Paraguay and Argentina, Gertrude has reached Mexico. The inauguration was held on Saturday 10 February 2007. Jean-Jacques Montech, Managing Director, and Serge Jouve, Chairman of GERTRUDE SAEM, were present on this occasion, as was Michel Sainte-Marie, Member of Parliament and Mayor of Mérignac, and in charge of international relations in his capacity as vice-president of Bordeaux Urban Community. The Mexican real-time system was commissioned and centralised with radio-type transmission – a world first for a real-time system. This form of transmission offers real benefits as it avoids the need for very costly and cumbersome civil engineering work on the one hand and improves completion deadlines – dividing them by four – on the other. After a fortnight’s commissioning, the radio transmissions were successfully validated, offering GERTRUDE SAEM a real opportunity for the future.
